Spanish Red Wine Trophy for
Mirto by Ramón Bilbao 2005 at
the International Wine Challenge 2008
[LONDON-SEPTEMBER 2008] The annual gala IWC Awards dinner, that was held at the Grosvenor House in London last September3rd, revealed the champions of the 2008, where Mirto by Ramón Bilbao 2005 received the Trophy in the Spanish Red Wine category.
 Of the wines awarded gold medals a few wines have been elevated from gold medal to trophy status following a further rigorous blind tasting. This year only one national trophy was appointed in the red wine category.
The International Wine Challenge is the largest wine competition in the world, has celebrated its 25th anniversary. It is supported by the prestigious Wine Magazine that belongs to the William Reed Company.
Mirto by Ramón Bilbao 2005 was served in the dinner that gathered over 600 guests from the global wine trade. This event is generally accepted as the “oscars” of the wine trade.

Ramón Bilbao Crianza 2003: Best Value in September for the Wine Spectator
[NEW YORK-SEPTEMBER 2006] The renowned magazine, Wine Spectator, which has the largest circulation of any wine magazine in the United States  and is considered a trade benchmark, chose our Ramón Bilbao Crianza 2003 as “Best Value” of the month with 88 point. In this section they assess the best value for money wines on the market and only award 10 “Best Buys” a year. This confirms the bodega’s strategy of the last few years of renewing the style of the firm’s wines, adapting them to the profile of consumers who are more demanding and seek colour. Fruit and good cask-ageing aromas.
Vertical Tasting of Mirto in TodoVino
[MADRID - JUNE 2006] The specialist magazine TodoVino, which publishes the prestigious Guía Roja de los Lacres,  dedicated its May issue to a “Vertical Tasting of Mirto”. The title of the report, “Mirto: A New Rioja” perfectly defines the spirit with which the bodega’s crown jewel was born in 1999 and not what we say. It perfectly exemplifies the new generation of Rioja reds that aim for modernity without excess, capable of offering consistent quality bottling at a reasonable price for their segment. The tasting covered a series of magnums from 1999, year in which the wine first appeared on the market, until 2004, due to be launched soon. All wines displayed the obvious results of the careful selection behind them.
